MEET MICHAEL

Michael Herrera believes every child deserves a safe school, a quality education, and the opportunity to succeed. As a husband, father, public servant, and community leader, he is running for the Bakersfield City School District Board because he believes our schools should focus on what matters most: students.

With a child in the district, Michael understands the hopes and concerns of local families firsthand. Like every parent, he wants classrooms that are safe, teachers who are supported, and students who graduate prepared for success.

Throughout his career, Michael has dedicated himself to serving Bakersfield. His experience in public administration, nonprofit leadership, and business has taught him how to solve problems, build consensus, and make responsible financial decisions. Those are the same principles he will bring to the school board.
